SYNOPSIS
SINOPSE
This hybrid film takes us on a journey into a world without men, where women choose the image that will represent them after they die. Through a participatory process, the author silently questions: How does it feel to have a family tree consisting only of women? What do our ancestress whisper from their silent portraits? The rhythm of a tending ritual takes us further into the underworld to bring together the living and the dead, connecting the present and the past.

Sara Jurincic is a filmmaker and architect from Croatia based in Copenhagen that has collaborated and exhibited with: W.O.R.M. Rotterdam, Klubvizija, CAFx, KONTEJNER. She established NOMAD STUDIO and VOID LAB, art and spatial experiment labs. She has been part of Sarajevo Talents, EW Talent lab and Dok Leipzig WIP. Her debut short film won multiple awards and was shown at more than thirty international film festivals, including Oberhausen film festival. Her new experimental-documentary film “VALERIJA” recently won multiple awards including The Heart of Sarajevo (best short documentary film), Grand Prix at 25FPS Film Festival and EFA nomination at ZINEBI Film Festival. She is now developing her debut feature length film “Trench” and a new short film “Closing time”.
